Your New Workplace

The Department of Children and Education is looking for a teacher in Art for grades 3-9 in combination with another subject for Sundsvall Montessori School.

Sundsvall Montessori School is located in the picturesque Sidsjö area, close to both a lake and beautiful forest surroundings. The school is a K-9 school with just over 230 students. Adjacent to the school, there is also an after-school program and a preschool with 5 departments. To stimulate students' development and learning, we work according to Montessori pedagogy. The pedagogy follows the child throughout their school years, from the toddler department in preschool to grade 9. We place the student at the center and strive to give each student the best possible conditions to develop their full potential. The work takes place in both mixed-age and age-homogeneous groups. Curiosity and interest are the foundation for lifelong learning. We create conditions for students to grow, feel a desire to learn, and understand that they "have the leading role in their own life." Students are given early opportunities to practice cooperation and take personal responsibility – skills that are valuable for further studies and in working life. We place education in a larger context.

Your Contribution as an Art Teacher

As an Art teacher for grades 3-9, you will have various teaching responsibilities. You possess good pedagogical skills and a positive attitude towards students and colleagues. We hope you are proactive and have a strong interest in developing the operations based on the curriculum. You will participate in the team’s work, including thematic planning and quality work based on Montessori pedagogy. You have a holistic view of the students and the ability to create security and comfort within the group, and you base your planning and implementation of teaching on the individual needs of the students to provide each student with the best possible learning situation. Mentorship is included in the position.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who is a qualified teacher in Art for grades 3-9 in combination with another subject. It is advantageous if you have Montessori training or knowledge of Montessori pedagogy, but it is not a requirement.
